Established in 1997 AhavaPicaro Havanese and Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonkas have been located in eastern Pennsylvania. It was a good place to begin our show/breeding kennel and we are very proud of the 40+ champions that our kennel has fielded as well as the many happy havanese and bolonka families that are in the Mid-Atlantic region.
However, beginning in June 2007 WE ARE MOVING! Patricia retires from her profession as a professor at a local college and returns to her southern roots in South Carolina. While there are many things we will miss about the Lehigh Valley, the lovely snow scene to the left is not one of them. We will be trading that for photos number two, three and four: a lovely wooded 5 acres adjacent to a 44 acre lake.
We are looking forward to being able to concentrate only on our dogs and the dog fancy and look forward to meeting you at our 'new digs'.
Birth Announcements: We do not keep a waiting list per se. What we do keep is a list of interested folks who want to be apprised of when a litter has arrived. After a litter arrives and becomes stable then electronic "birth announcements" are sent out along with other pertinent information such as the parents, CERF numbers, and pedigrees. Those interested in an Ahavapicaro puppy may then inquire as to availability. Like most show and breeding kennels we try to place our show quality pups in homes committed to showing in the conformation ring first. However, we are not opposed to placing a show quality pup in a pet home.
Puppies do not leave Ahavapicaro untill they are between 10 and 12 weeks of age. If being shipped, they do not leave until between 12 and 14 weeks of age.
When you get your new puppy it will have been vet checked and have a certificate of health from the veterinarian. It will have had at least one 'puppy' immunization and have been started on the deworming protocol.
You will be provided with a health certificate, copies of the parent's CERF records, pedigrees and a sales contract. All pet puppies are placed on a limited registration and a spay/neuter contract. We strongly urge that all new prospective havanese owners join the Delaware Valley Havanese Club (DVHC) and have the puppies' eyes checked annually. New bolonka owners should join the North American Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka Club. I will work very hard to see that local information about where CERF clinics are being held is made available.
